ACS/WASC Mid-Cycle Visit

Fall, 2021

The Accrediting Commission for Schools Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS/WASC) is responsible for the accreditation of public and private universities, colleges, secondary and elementary schools in the United States and foreign institutions of American origin.

In the Fall 2021, WASC will be conducting a Virtual Mid-term Accreditation visit at Schurr High School.  The update of the Schurr High School ACS/WASC Mid-Cycle Progress Report has been completed, but because accreditation is an on-going process at our school, the document is constantly updated and revised to reflect any of the changes at our site.  Due to the closure of all schools in the Spring semester of 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to adapt to a Distance Learning module for the duration of the second semester in 2020, and through the Fall semester of 2020-21.  Therefore, the accreditation visit will be virtual in the Fall, 2021, with the visiting team meeting remotely with staff and administration to discuss the Self-Study document, to ascertain how students are achieving and what evidence reflects this, and to determine whether the school is doing everything possible to support student achievement.  Analysis of this evidence by the visiting team will determine if Schurr High School has met the state’s terms for continued accreditation.
