The first big one is the Posse Scholarship. It is open now! This is a full ride scholarship for the following schools:
Pepperdine University
Northwestern University
University of Wisconsin-Madison
Santa Clara University
Tulane University
Bucknell University
Hobart & William Smith Colleges
Kalamazoo College
FOR ARTS: University of North Carolina School of Arts
FOR STEM: Middlebury College
T This scholarship is worth over $200,000! It will require an interview. In the past we have had highly motivated students get this scholarship. Ex. Andrew de Sevilla getting a full ride scholarship to Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison. You can be next. SAT Registration
SAT is recommended for all student interested in applying to private colleges
You can register at sat.org
To get a fee waiver send me a screenshot of your registration so I can send you the waiver code
You can practice for the SAT on Khan Academy. SAT will not be used by CSU or UC for admissions, nor used by community colleges

Private College Applications are done primarily through Common App
You can apply to up to 20 colleges (such as Whittier College, Georgetown, and USC) with a single application!
You can start setting up your application then add schools
You will need to complete the Common App essay and get a counselor and teacher recommendation (not as hard as you'd think)
 
A-G and 3.0+:
Work on your UC Personal Statements see the link provided. Applications open August 1st
All transcript orders are now done through parchment.com
This a secure electronic transcript service. You can also order a transcript for yourself at parchment. The first 4 transcript orders are free for recent graduates
 
Community College Applications continue to be open
 
ELAC Financial Aid office is open till 6pm Monday-Thursday for FAFSA/Dream assistance
Rio Hondo financial aid office is open till 7pm Monday-Thursday for FAFSA/Dream act assistance
 
Webgrants for Students Complete Webgrants4students in order to see your Cal Grant Award

SAT
  • UC/CSU are not using SAT for admissions, though they can use scores for English and math placement
  • Most private colleges are test optional, though it is now highly recommended
  • SAT is required for many private colleges and highly recommended if you intend to apply to a private college. Register at sat.org
  • Students who are eligible for free/reduced lunch can request a SAT fee waiver. Send me a screenshot of your SAT registration or come by the College Office with your SAT registration screen. The fee waiver is good for 2 SAT tests.  SAT Registration
FAFSA
  • All Seniors should complete the FAFSA/Dream Act before June 30th in order to receive financial aid or be eligible for free tuition at community colleges (California College Promise) 
  • Start with FSA ID for you and your parent No Social Security Number? No problem. Complete the Dream Act (Dream Act español)
